Don’t Wait For me

All I am, all I feel
All of this isn't real
Destiny questioning
Look at this life
Look at your life
Look at me

I don't believe in love
I don't believe
I was born too late
To try to relate
Yet I believe in destiny
As long as I can choose
the one for me

Countless nights
endless roads
None of these
etched in stone
Free to choose
free to be
free to wander
endlessly
and find another girl

I don't believe in fate
I live my life
don't hesitate
I don't believe
in heaven sent
I never understood what
Soul mate meant

I've been down
many times before
I've been around
seen it all and maybe more
But now I'm up
and getting' higher

The pain becomes
your only friend
You must seek
a better end
Back to the point
it all began.

Drunk Thoughts

Gotta a few dollars in my pocket
want to buy me some gin
a drop of gas in the tank
let me think it over again
'cuz I'd rather be sober on a cloud
then drunk in this town

No friends coming' thru
I think I lost them all
No others to take their place…
I had my good friends
they have a place inside my heart
but they all in some way tore it apart

But my best friend
well she holds the biggest part
She finds the good in me
She knows just what it takes
And she loves the man in me
Through all my mistakes

In my eyes
she's everything
everything to me
And I won't forget the day
She said, "You're all I need"

Broke and alone
no where to go
and this economy
Is killing' me so slow
one smoke left to light
I think I'll smoke just a half
by the time I finish this drink
I will need a pack.

Welcome to Poetry Hour

My name is PJ and these are my poems...

I write because I would like my soul to live forever. I use poetry as a way to escape the reality of pain and thoughts.. It is like therapy.. Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason.

I hope you enjoy reading my poetry. Check back often for new poems.. Please leave comments on the poetry you like.
